One of the priority issues at Disability Matters Vote is “Fair Wages”. We believe that Manitobans with disabilities deserve well-trained, qualified and dedicated support staff.

Good news! The province is preparing to roll out a $35 million wage top up for frontline staff in various sectors, including ours. This should translate to about an additional $5/hour for shifts worked from November 1, 2020 – January 10, 2021.

Advocates for adults with intellectual disabilities in Manitoba are calling on the province to provide a mobile vaccine service to about 200 people with sensory issues who are still waiting for their first dose.
